This Rose Madame Driout hadn't bloomed since 2016 or so, she only sent up blind shoots but finally she decided to bloom again this year.
I don't really like Hibiscus but this large flowered variety is quite impressive
Abutilon striatum
One of the last water lilies..
See you next time!
Too much of anything becomes tiresome, be it rain or drought I suppose. Best wishes for a dry weekend in your lovely garden.
ResponderEliminarKris, too much rain is indeed tiresome and boring, it hasn't rained today but the humidity is very high and the heat makes it worse, this is bad news for my roses but on the other hand Camellias love these conditions! Have a great Sunday!
EliminarYou have so many beautiful roses! Endless rain is boring. I get very frustrated when it rains all the time.
ResponderEliminarHappy Weekend!
Marit, too much rain can be a nuisance but after the rain everything gets green, that's the positive side. Happy Sunday!
EliminarRain rain... What to do MDN? They said: 'the nature has no bad weather', ha ha! Now you're struggling the deceases and I look at your roses - they're so pretty and healthy. My two small rose that bloom on the windowsill are attacked of spider mites. I spray them every day.
ResponderEliminarHappy Sunday.
Nadezda, I have more than 50 rose bushes and not all look good, in fact some are dying unable to fully recover from the summer stress. Can't wait for winter to buy new roses to replace the ones that died. Have a nice week!
EliminarHi Marcelo, your flowers are beautiful as usual, rain or no rain. I love that pink and white stripy one. And the hibiscus is really most unusual, I have never seen one with two colours like that.
ResponderEliminarJane, the Madame Driout Rose is indeed a beautiful cultivar but - at least in my garden - it's been a very shy bloomer. Wish you a wonderful week!
EliminarYes please - we are expecting rain on Monday and Wednesday.
ResponderEliminarDiana, I hope your garden is getting ample rainfall soon. The weekend was nice and sunny but the soil is so wet I'll have to wait some days till things dry out to garden again. Have a great week!
EliminarYou have a nice collection of roses, MDN!
ResponderEliminarI am sure they are happy about the rain.
Sigrid, roses are indeed thirsty plants but they don't like to be wet for long periods of time, blackspot, powdery mildew and other diseases thrive in those conditions, I have a war to fight against them in the coming months! sigh!
EliminarHello MDN
ResponderEliminarWhat a lovely roses you have in your garden. I love the Hibiscus. We can only grow this kind on the fence inside the house. But even inside not easy to grow because of lack of humidity. And your waterlily is so beautiful. I hope you did have some dry day's.
Have a wonderful day.
Rosehugs Marijke
Marijke, Hibiscus here grow outside all year round and become huge, not my favorite plants but I plant them because they don't need much care and give color to the garden for many months. Have a wonderful day full of roses!
EliminarHello Marcelo
ResponderEliminarWhat a striking Hibiscus blooming at your place ...loved the roses
Have a great week ahead..
Arun, I love roses but I wish they were easier to grow! Hibiscus in comparison are low maintenance plants, they need much water when they are young but once they stablish they live on their own very well. Have a great day!
EliminarBeautiful images of your blooms glistening with raindrops!
