Late May blooms

There are not many flowers in the garden lately. This Camellia is the only one blooming at the moment, I won't see many flowers on my camellias this year because the hail storms ruined most of their buds.

Good news: Jean Giono is back! I can't believe I found another one!

Hibiscus keep blooming as usual ... I should love this noble plants more, they bloom almost year round, never get sick and once they reach a certain size they live on their own, I don't even water them.

Before and after the rain..

After a very rainy (and warm) winter spring has arrived bringing yet more rain. I am not complaining I like rain and benefits most of the plants in my garden, I say most because my Roses don't like to be wet for many days since that creates the ideal conditions for their archenemies:Blackspot, cankros, powdery mildew, rose rust.. It's been raining almost weekly since July and everything looks beautifully green but it won't last much: soon the lushness will be checked by the first summer heatwaves.. so I will enjoy it while it lasts!

This Tillandsia Aeranthos is a native bromeliad that grows spontaneusly on trees, they have very nice blooms.

And today it was a very rainy day but I decided to take some pictures of the roses and other plants because I love the sight of raindrops on flowers and leaves: it's pure magic!

Spring is here

Spring begins today in the Southern hemisphere, yesterday it rained over half an inch in just a few minutes and everything looked like a swamp. But today was a sunny day and not very hot! I wish all days were like this..

The first roses are here, not as many as I'd wanted for this winter was extremly rainy and unusually warm and took a toll on them (powdery mildew, cankros, blackspot, rose rust..the usual suspects) and many buds were ruined.

The camellias are still blooming but some of them are dropping their buds unopened because of the heat, something totally normal.

The flowering peach looks terrific! I love this tree so much! I planted it with my beloved mother and reminds me of her, I miss her so much!
