December blooms

The days are getting hotter and hotter: Some plants love it and some plants hate it, ok ok only Roses hate it...

Roses are definitely not suitable for my climate but I like them so much!

I've been moving some of my potted Hibiscus because I decided to plant them in the ground and let them go huge as they love to do here.. honestly I don't like these plants but they are so hardy and bloom so much that I've thrown in the towel: they won... I wish roses were like them SIGH!

Hydrangeas are lovely shrubs: they are happy with shade and lots of water, I want to have more hydrangeas.

Water lilies are not blooming as they did last year I think I have to repot them but repotting lilies is a very physically exhausting task since the pots are big, the pond is deep and my back is bad...

Last days of november in the garden

With temperatures approaching 40 C (100 F) my energy and will to work in the garden simply fade but the water lilies are nevertheless happy with heat!

Roses in the sun...

I love roses, I love them MADLY but they don't like these hot months...

By 3 PM they were completely shrivelled. Sun scorches them regardless of how much I water them at night. So I cut them early in the morning and put them in vases before they get ruined by the sun, furthermore the flowers are smaller during these hot months. Only when heat subsides by April/May they will look better. Patience is paramount in gardening....

Sunny day - Rainy day

Today is a rainy day but I am not complaining about it for there were sunny skies for days lately, temperatures rocketed past 35C (95F) and my sprinkler was running nonstop to keep the green green (I rarely need to water from March to November because rain is ample and temperature still not scorching hot.) Watering can be exhausting...
