My Jacarandas are blooming
With less humidity roses are healthier, less blackspot, less powdery mildew.. the problem now is their blooms get scorched by the sun, I took the pictures early in the morning because by the afternoom most of them were shrivelled
There are still some Camellias blooming, but most of them are now growing new shoots.
Amaryllis continue blooming, they are just gorgeous!
The first Gladiolus of the year, it's quite small I think they don't get enough sun where I planted them
It's Hibiscus time: I should love these plants more, they are so reliable in this climate.
I discovered this pretty Aquilegia yesterday! I thought I had lost them all!
See you next time!
MDN!
ResponderEliminarWhat the roses! I also love your amaryllis, nice color and shade. Spring is always wonderful.
Spring is so short here Nadezda, it gives way to a harsh long summer very quickly. Temps will be over 40 C soon.. not nice for roses!
EliminarSo many beautiful booms in your garden. We're having autumn wind and rain storms here as the days grow shorter and colder. I so enjoy the warmth of spring in your post!
ResponderEliminarI am now begging for short colder days Peter! Triple digit temps are just around the corner, summer hasn't even started and I already want winter .. meanwhile I will enjoy the water lilies, they love heat.
EliminarWhat a glorious floral display you have! Those water lilies make me drool. I was surprised that your Jacaranda blooms in spring - ours don't usually bloom until summer.
ResponderEliminarThe water lilies are the sould of late spring and summer in my garden, I love them madly! Jacarandas bloom twice here: in spring and then again in late summer, I am surprised now because I thought they did that everywhere!
EliminarDouble blooming to celebrate being at home in the right climate.
EliminarYour flowers are beautiful! I am having the same difficulty with my roses; they open too quickly and are gone. At least you have caught their beauty here! I find the very full varieties (50 petals and more) last longer, which is nice.
ResponderEliminarYour water lilies too... so lovely! It is best when the flowers enjoy the season - even when we do not! ;-) Have a great week!
Amy, thanks for visiting! Growing roses in hot climates is indeed a real challenge but in my opinion a garden without roses is not a garden!
EliminarBello ... casi no puedo esperar a que pase el invierno y no jardin comience a florecer....
ResponderEliminarHere from Maruxa's blog...
Cielo muchas gracias por tu comentario! El invierno aquí en Argentina es corto y el verano muy largo a veces deseo que fuese lo opuesto! Un saludo!
EliminarThe red and white striped Amaryllis is a beauty!
ResponderEliminarHello Diana! Amaryllis are beautiful plants, I am considering to buy pink ones, they are so pretty in pink!
EliminarI can see your garden is blooming beautifully. Your roses are perfect and I LOVE the colours of your water lillies!!!
ResponderEliminarEnjoy your gorgeous flowers :)
Prunella, thanks for visiting! The water lilies are a joy, they love hot sunny days, roses on the other hand prefer milder climate.. one can't have all in a garden! Have a great day!
EliminarI enjoyed seeing all your gorgeous water lilies. There is nothing more beautiful than a pond with them. Your roses are beautiful also, and the Amaryllis, which are a highlight of my Spring garden also, something to look forward to.
ResponderEliminarThank you for sharing your beautiful flowers.
HB, Amaryllis are wonderful I've seen them in pink in the nursery some days ago I´m sure I'll buy some pink ones soon. I am now planing to plant more hydrangeas and try to keep them blue (mine have turn pink after some time)
EliminarHello MDN
ResponderEliminarThis is so crazy! In your area is mid spring and hot! How must be summer then. Your water lilies are so beautiful. I can't decide which one I like the most. The Amaryllis do bloom in your garden?!
In Germany this is a house pot plant for winter time. You buy the onion, put it in a pot on the window board and wait until it blossoms.
Unfortunatetly I was never lucky with Amaryllis.
Sigrid, spring is short and very hot here, it gives way to a long and protracted summer with temperatures that can reach 45 C, on the other hand winter is short and mild and generally frost free(I wish it was the other way around) Amaryllis are very easy to grow here, they are outdoors plants. I never thought of keeping them inside the house!
